Anyone know of a program that would help you design a slot car or train layout?
 Thanks.

I know theres software out there for designing train layouts.  I cant think of
the name of it at the moment however.  You might want to try Model Railroader
Online.

http://www.modelrailroader.com

They have a section of books and videos so they mighthave something about it
there.

There was a program years ago for HO slot car track design called Wiz Track.  It's
quite the old type, being designed for when 286 systems were the rage (total
monochrome).  Nonetheless, it's kinda' cool, and you can print from saved designs.

I may have a copy somewhere hidden amongst the mess in the garage.  If I can find,
I'll send.  If not, I'll see about locating the address for where you can get it.

Cheers!

Marc

...an update:

I couldn't find the software, but I did come accross the address where I purchased
a copy of WizTrack (at least that's what I remember what it was called...).

Make sure you call AFTER the holidays...I called and they're as polite as polcats
in a dogfight.  ;)

Cheers!

There's a couple of programs for designing slot car tracks.  Tracker is
one.  I don't have URL's now but you can find it without much trouble,
go www.scalemodels.uk.co and follow the links pages until you find a
link page with a section for software (or get on a site that's a member
of the Slot Car Web Ring, and then look at the list of all ring sites).

Based on the crippled demo, Tracker seems like a very nice program,
designed for 1/32 Scalextric track.  Don't know if the author has made
definition files for HO track.  It does cost $50 though -- I haven't
decided whether to buy it myself.

Eldred,

You might try the alt.hobbies.slotcars NewsGroup !

I have a lot of fun memories of racing slot cars in the mid-1980's using a
Blue King track in Group 15 and Group 27 cars !
