WRC 2 in North America?

I was just wondering if we'll ever see WRC 2 over here anytime soon. That
game trounced CMR 3 in all the reviews but has only been available in
Europe. I have WRC 1 and it's still a lot of fun but i really wish Sony
would hurry up with the sequel.

I asked abt. this a year ago, but Sony told me they had no plans to bring
the BAM! game here 'cuz 'Murricans don't like rallying.  Wrong!  Motor Trend
did a survey among their readers who also play racing games, and rally games
were second only to NASCAR (i.e., ahead of sports cars, street racing, F1,
World of Outlaws, etc.).

I see WRC3 (PS2, 3) has been announced.  Screenies here:

I thought game discs were regionalized (America-only, Europe-only,
Asia-only, etc.), like movie DVDs, as a form of copy protection.

I bought MBTR and MBWR from online dealers in the UK; both work fine
(I'm in Canada).

PC game discs, like music CDs, are not region coded or PAL/NTSC/SECAM
like DVD movies are.  I don't think the same is true for console games
but I could be wrong.

Yes, I meant *console* discs.
