The VC, or Verbal Commander, is a ISA card that you plug your Keyboard
and a microphone into. Then there is software that comes with the
card. With this setup, you choose a "game" and then choose key board
commands. each keyboard command(s) is then linked to a voice input from
your microphone.
With Nascar2 there are a bunch of keyboard commands that can be
implemented. With GPL however, there are only two:-( F-10 and the look
left/right. When on the pole at Brands hatch, using the F-10 view is
essential to be able to see the green flag to drop. As soon as it does,
I switch back to normal view. In that respect, the VC would be great!
all I would have to do is say "eften" when I want to use it, and again
when I want to switch back. No more would I have to search for the F10
key while trying to hold my line. The Look L/R wouldn't be able to be
used though :-( I could say "lookright" and what would happen would be
the screen would do a very fast look and probably too fast for me to
recognize what's to the right of me.
In any case, The VC was the thing to get about a year ago. I don't
have the URL but I bet someone else does.
