You can use a program called Virtual Dub to make a WAV file from the audio
of an MPEG movie..

Just load the video with vdub, goto file > Save WAV...

...or just run the movie and record with sndrec32.exe (or equivalent...
Creative sound cards come with a nice utility).

It can be a REAL pain.  You need a utility that will de-interlace the video
and audio.

MPEG doesn't store separate tracks, really, if I understand it correctly.
The Audio and Video are interleaved.

Go to www.versiontracker.com or other file site and search for sound
utilities.  The one's that can handle this are usually marked as able to do
so.

I had to do this a couple of weeks ago, and it too me 2 days of farting
around with it to get it done.

Thanks for the memory gug.  That's what I used, finally.  Virtual Dub.
