F1 Tracks.

So many guys are saying  that the tracks and laptimes of GP3 are not
realistic. Other guys are saying the same of F1 2000.

Well, i played a lot F1 2000 and i qualified many times with same times as
the top 5 drivers in a real qualification. Sure i know, there are people (in
hall of fames) who race 5 secs faster. But, i know how they do that. I can
tell you, they cannot race that times if they dont use the patch, where you
can change option to give the McL or Ferrari 30 to 40 more horsepower. They
also change things in the .PLR file.
Anyway, i think the laptimes are pretty realistic when you race the F1 2000
game without changing this kind of stuff.

Only thing i dont know if the tracks are more or less realistic than GP3. I
dont speak about colors (ofcourse GP3 colors are better).

Does anybody really know (so who know the tracks in real life?) in which
game the track are the most realistic??

Well... Zolder is extremely well done in the MBTR demo, so maybe the best is
yet to come. ;-))

I think you'll probably find that the most realistic tracks are some
of the home-made tracks for GP2, in which dedicated race fans are
known to spend weeks/months customising and perfecting just that one
track.   (Something that software companies do not have the time
to do)

some tracks are better done in one sim, some are better in another - none of
them is perfect though. If you want the most accurate tracks now, get the
user created tracks from www.grandprix2.com. If people start customizing the
Grand Prix 3 tracks I think then you will see the most accurate tracks there
in the near future. I am already working on perfecting the Hockenheimring
and Monza. One of the problem I've encountered is that when you add
realistic run off areas and tarmac stripes it is possible to turn much
faster times without being "punished" by the sim. The only solution I see at
the moment is making those as bumpy as grass or gravel traps, but this is
not very accurate either...

  I haven't seen the GP2 tracks, but....
The absolute best recreation I have seen so far of a Road Course is the
Sears99 track for N3.  This was done by  a private group of individuals and
is fantastic(I hate that track btw...can't pass anymore).  I'm not even sure
it is available for wide distrubution, but it really
works...The difference between the N3 version and Sears99 is like comparing
the Truck Pak Portland International Raceway to the original ICR2 version.
