Taking the fun out of the game

Last nite I spent 45 min LD from Cal. and tried to race twice.
In the first race at Mich. I was hit from behind and damaged before
the first corner, out of the race.  After a long wait another race
started at Mich. this time with a pace lap, I figure great at least
we'll get started.   No way I was hit from behind during the pace lap
and had my wheel was damaged, out of the race.  This game for me
stopped being fun anymore and that's a shame.  Until there is a
solution to this kind of none sense I'll just  leave  Nascar to the
kids playing bumber cars.

I was quite worried about the hijinx too but y'know, I broke down and
started hitting the 0-15 pickups and had a pretty good time.  6 pretty
meaningful runs. I'm not disagreeing with the fact that there is some
chaos going on, but also there is a fair chance to get in with some guys
you don't know and have some fun.  I ran a Forced Setup race at Atlanta
with a couple of new guys and it was swap...swap...swap for many laps.

I tell you something else too.  Avoiding yayhoos (within reason) really
sharpens up your reflexes and _that_, is as much a part of racing as
anything else.  The good drivers know how to avoid trouble both in real
life And on the server.

So...when life hands you a newbie (like...a stupid one), make newbieaide!

Mark, I wish you would stop referring to me that way! :-)

ROFL!!  This is beautiful..

Don't forget Mark, I had to make newbieaide with you the first
couple of times you and I ran 'Dega together during beta. And I
used to avoid racing with you until you proved yourself to me.
But since then you and I have gone door to door more than once
and we ran Atlanta once in the series and swapped positions 3
times a lap in all clean-and-green racing.

Point is, I've seen you come down pretty *** some of the idiots
online.  You yourself (and me too) made some pretty dumb mistakes
once upon a time.....  There's just a learning process that
everybody needs to go through when you go from racing AI to racing
real people.

Patience is a good thing, and newbieaide is the right attitude.

See You In Hawaii.

Most people don't have a problem with newbies. By 'newbies', I mean drivers
who just aren't that good.  We DO have a problem with people who DELIBERATELY
wreck others.  I've seen it SEVERAL times, and it's just plain stupid.  If I
thought I was good enough to help a newbie, I'd do it in a second.  I just
don't see any help for the jerks out there... :(

Also, if someone wants to learn how to drive, do it off of Hawaii. I am
paying a LD bill to race here, and I dont need some guy who went and
bought the sim this morning trying to learn how to drive, take me out.
