Having picked up GPL this last weekend, I must say this is a pretty immersive
sim...didn't leave the room all day..had meals sent in...and I'm only
practicing! I kept calling the wife to come in.."Listen to that Ferrari,
doesn't it sound great?" Uh uh, can I go now? If a Ferrari engine is just noise
to you, your no race fan! I shouted.

Heading down the backstraight under Bridge at Silverstone, all 12 cylinders of
that Ferrari screaming towards Woodecote, a gentle right steering input, sets
up oversteer, a nice controlled power drift through the turn....Magnificent!

Another favorite, that long backstretch at Rouen, full power, it bends a
little to the right, and you have to keep steering towards the inside right,
which sets up a nice  four wheel drift....I just love that section.

After a bit of practice I kept thinking..Since Papyrus is in Retro mode, with a
new sim engine that takes all this driver input, why not a retro sim on 1960's
Champ Dirt car, sprint car series, pre cage era...the cars were just gorgeous
in that era...Papy did such a great job with engine sounds in GPL, I kept
thinking how a 270 cubic inch Offenhouser, at full opposite lock powerslide at
the almost circle Langhorne 1 mile track would be like...you could incorporate
ruts, dirt clods hitting your face, track drying out, groove changing, setup
for running high or low...or sprint cars at Winchester, Salem etc. Andretti,
Foyt, Jones, Hurtubise....it was a different time,as dangerous as F1 in the
60's. The nice thing is you hit a whole new generation of people including our
European friends who have never been exposed to that era of racing.
