Attention Viper fans...and isn't that just about everyone?

The April US car mags are full of articles about a club racer
Chryco...err DamnLer Chrysler is selling. A SCCA spec Viper coupe. IT
won't be in the same class as the GTS-R cars that raced at LeMans and the
FIA and ALMS series...more tuned to the club racer. And about 1/3 of the
price of the old GTS-R racehorse. But it's nice to see the German
Accountants haven't totally forgotten the road racing Snake.

Dave:

AFAIK, it isn't built to any particular SCCA class, and I imagine it's
probably too radical for the near-stock T1. Should certainly be welcome
in the catch-all classes (ITE or SPO depending on the region) at the
Regional level. I believe the Viper Club's fledging racing program is
the primary market.

Supposedly it's eligible for Grand-Am Cup competition too. Not sure which
class. All planned production for this year has been sold already, so
somebody must be running them.

Skimmed the cover story in the new R&T that came yesterday. Primary
market is Viper Club guys, with World Challenge and GAC also in the mix.

Sorry!!!

I kept getting errors when posting, sooooo looks like Mozilla was
taunting me.

Ummm...I think it's gonna run in WRC, Hooters Pro Cup and AMA Formula
Extreme :-p
