Hey, is anyone else interested in the "Trans-Am" series of racing
besides me?  How's this for a question...Is Papyrus/Sierra interested in
starting a "Trans-Am" based computer game???  I have been a huge fan of
the NASCAR series' and would love to see a game based on something I
like....CORNERING!  I also enjoy a few cars that have been on the scene
since the early-mid sixties.  Mustangs vs. Camaros vs. Firebirds!  One
of the LONGEST ongoing battles in automotive history has been
overlooked.  The way I see it is, they already have Sears Point, Watkins
Glen, Laguna Seca, Cleveland Int'l Airport, (road course inside Phoenix
Int'l), etc...from previous games...all they need are the models and a
few other things before releasing this game.  I'd be willing to test and
make comments if anyone from the aforementioned company is
LISTENING!!!!!

Geoff--

A TransAm sim has been announced for later in the year based (I guess)
on the 67-70 seasons (I could be wrong). Check Deja News for the thread
in this newsgroup -- must have been a couple months ago.

Try this for a '97 Trans-Am set for N2.  Most of the cars are there, they
aren't exactly the best but at least they are there, and the skill levels are a
bit off, which is kinda obvious when Tom Kendall DIDNT win a race, so you'll
probably have to change them.

Well I think somebody is doing a Trans-Am sim but it's not Papyrus.  Look
for it around Xmas I think.   If you want corinering, check out the Touring
Car Patch for N2.  We run on the Indyccar2 Road & street courses.  The TPTCC
patch can be found at the USPITS.   I know there are no Mustangs or Camoro's
but the AI is good and tough and you find plenty of right and left hand
turns.

I pretty sure that I read some posts here that someone is
working on a Trans-Am sim based on the 70s.

In EB's newest release list dated 4/6/98 there is a release date of 9/98
for Trans Am 68-72. I can't remember the developer, but I think GT
Interactive was publishing it. I hope they do a good job, driving those
cars would be a blast.

GT Interactive is the developer.  The mag NEXT GENERATION  had a complete
preview of the sim on page 62 (screenshots included).  Very cool, check it
out!

GT Interactive is just publishing it, I still can't remember the
developer name, but they previously did CG re-enactments and the like I
think. Is that article in the May Next Gen? I'll definitely have to
check that out.

Of course some people in R.A.S probably won't like this sim since the
cars should be a handful like in the GPL demo. ;)
