If you haven't tried Alex Ulleri's RoadOne, a 4.8-mile natural terrain road
circuit, I urge you to drop everything & do so immediately.  Here:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

It's a fantasy track, most of which I have no use for (they're always
somebody else's fantasy of a track, not mine), but it seems oh so real.
There are soaring elevation changes, *** straights, difficult approaches,
subtle cambers, asymetrical radii, deceptive apexes, and soul-satisfying
"blasts" (as Derek Daly calls 'em).  Best of all, the surface isn't
billard-table smooth like most add-on tracks.  The suspension is in constant
motion, as you can clearly see in the replays, which forces you to make some
interesting setup changes.  Lap times are lengthy (around two-and-a-half
minutes in a Cup car) and it's perfect for online racing.

The only downside: it's a frame-rate killer.  It runs okay on my 1.3
Athlon/ATI 9500 Pro...but only just.  It would take something twice as fast
to do it justice.

FYI - The FPS issue is not due to the graphics of the game but the size of
the track and elevation changes.  Apparently the way the track loops around
it causes a large load of the track at certain points.  So it shouldn't
really be video card specific.  Try reducing the drawing distance to help
reduce the amount loaded.

As I say, my rig can handle it...barely but adequately.  The slowdown is
abt. the same all the way around the track, BTW, not pronounced at any
particular spot.

There is one other minor prob: it doesn't record yer best laps.  Anybody got
a fix for this?

It's a little *** the frame rate, even on my AMD 2400/Radeon 9700
pro system...

But it is a fun track.

I dropped it down to 50% (from 80) and it didn't help the frame rate
at all.

Dumb question - which game is this for?  I couldn't find it on the USPits
page...
