NFS Driving Model/Suggestions

I would just like to say that I love the driving model in NFS. I have
never seen a game in which the cars exhibit body roll.
I happen to own a real Corvette, which I've raced. And driving the ZR-1
is very similar to driving my car, although it rolls slightly more and is
slightly less stable in transients, but then again my car is lowered. I
often find myself reaching for the FX3 adjustable ride to make sure it is
set on sport.
Steering with the joystick, however, sucks. The game needs a non-linear
steering option like Indycar Racing.
I would love to see a sports car racing game based on the same engine.
Maybe one that tracks the 1964 or 1965 GT series in which Shelby raced his
famous Cobras against such fine cars as the Ferrari 250GTO and the
Corvette Stingray. I would love to see a game similar to NFS, but on real
tracks with real racing sports cars.

I had a chance opportunity a few weeks ago to talk to the
president of EA Canada (the same person who came up with Test Drive 1,
Test Drive 2, and Stunts).  This was before the release of NFS for PCs,
which he told me would be out for Christmas (I'm glad he lied :-)).
First of all, I had to tell him that Stunts was possibly the
greatest game his company had made.  Would there be a sequel?  No, he
said, but we're thinking about it.  So I asked him what the next project
was going to be.
He hinted that EAC was working with Penske and McLaren on a game
based on LeMans.  After a stupid comment I made about being able to play
the full race on the computer, he left.  My lacking wit has done me in
once more.
So, there's something for you to look forward too!
Personally I'm a great fan of open and closed-wheel racing from
the '50s and '60s.  As I've mentioned before, I'd love to see Shelby
Daytonas, the old Testa Rossas, Jaguar D-types, and the GT40 in a game
based on the NFS engine.  If they could figure out a way to model present
day open-wheel racers while keeping the frame rate down, that would make
a terrific game.  Can you imagine Indycar or Nascar physics lumped together
with a tweaked NFS graphic engine?
I also think that they could do a pretty good Mille Miglia with
the NFS engine.
