Hi All,

There are a couple of pictures of Andretti Racing 98 at the following
urls :-

Looks good, however I cannot find any real info on the game except for
what Electronic Arts has on their website regarding the previous version
for the Playstation and Saturn.

Does anybody have any real info on this title?

Cheers, Ian.

Was the old Andretti Racing the sim that also included Sprints Cars, and
just wondering if the Andretti Racing 98 will also include Sprint Car
Racing as an option?

Played it a bit at E3 and I can't say I was impressed.  It looked good, but
it had no in car view, and is definately an arcade type not a simulation.

I'm pretty sure it will, but like the stock cars they were non-functioning
in the E3 display.

No, this is not the Andretti Racing By EA that came out in the early
90's and had sprint cars, modifieds, nascar, and f1/indycars. In that
game you started out in the sprint cars at the Indianapolis
Fairgrounds. While that game was not as good a simulation as Papyrus'
Indianapolis 500 The Simulation(which was also released by EA), it had
a pretty unique concept that I have never seen duplicated since. You
had to start poor, and win sprint car races, then build up enough
money and points to buy new equipment and move on to a new series. I
believe this game had Daytona Speedway in it as well. Sorry for the
flashback, anyway, Andretti Racing 98 by EA is the updated PC version
of Andretti Racing for the Playstation that was released last year. It
allows you to drive Indycars or Nascars on a few"licensed" tracks and
several fantasy tracks. This is definitely an arcade racer that allows
a few sim-like changes to car settings. The PC version that they were
showing at E3 looked very good. It was running on a 3DFX card and was
probably the fastest/prettiest arcade racing game I saw at E3. They
said it would be available Oct/Nov 1997.

Actually, IMHO, it looks awful. That forced perspective and surrealist
architecture looks like it was designed by Salvador Dali after
overdosing on El Greco. Just a tought...
