From the LFS Team,
There is a new demo-patch available from:
www.liveforspeed.net/download.htm
www.liveforspeed.com/download.htm
This is an intermediate patch which remains multiplayer and video
compatible with the previous versions L, M, N
Fixes and changes in patch P :
1) Host crash and two other multiplayer bugs fixed
2) Lap times now the same in practice or race
3) Can use buttons for accelerator and brake (options...controls)
4) Can select the the combined axis in combined axis mode
5) Can select the number of buttons up to 12
Note : Multiple controllers and clutch / shifters not yet supported.
If you wish to use throttle and brake on separate axes :
1) Set your wheel to report throttle and brake on separate axes.
2) Start Live for Speed DEMO TEST and go into Options...Controls.
3) Click on the Throttle / Brake button to select separate axes.
4) Click on the Set up axes button to display the axis selection.
5) Select the appropriate axes and if necessary swap pedals.
You may need to try all combinations of the 5 available axes
until you find the correct settings for your wheel.
You will know it is correct when the Set up axes button is green
and your pedals have the right effect.
6) Finally you need to select the force type (one, two or three).
To test the force type you must test drive your car in the game
then return to the options screen until you have the right value.
This temporary system has been tested on the following wheels :
Logitech MOMO Force
Thrustmaster Ferrari Force Feedback
Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback
Logitech Wingman Formula Force (Serial)
The following axis separate settings were found to work correctly :
MOMO Ferrari Sidewinder
Axes Separate Separate Separate
Throttle RZ Y Y
Brake Z Z RZ
Swap Pedals ON ON OFF
Force Type one two two
Formula Force :
In separate axis mode The LWFF wheel had a force that pulled to the
left, however it worked fine in single axis mode, using force type 2
though two of the buttons were not available.
It is not known if this patch works with the Thomas Super Wheel. It
is possible that by selecting the correct number of buttons the TSW
may be found to work.
Thanks to all players for your testing.
