its 6th season this winter, a 9-race FD tour running Sunday nights at 9:30
US Eastern time from mid-November to mid-February. We've run the FD class
for several seasons now because they have all the grip of the F1 cars
without being so overpowered that they're hard to control. In short,
they're fun to race. We favor familiar tracks to minimize prep time and
shorter circuits to provide more car-to-car racing.
Our goal is to run with 15 or 16 "full-time" drivers and 7 or 8 part-timers
so we can run full fields as much as possible. We currently have 14
full-time and 6 part-time drivers signed up, so there's room for a few more.
Our fields encompass a broad range of driving experience and ability, so
whether you're Johnny Hot-Shoes or a rookie, you'll have someone to race
with. (At our Monza FD race earlier this fall, we had 3 drivers with fast
laps of 1:35.x, 4 with 1:36.x, 3 with 1:37.x, and a 1:38.) As long as you
can usually control your car, always be considerate of other drivers, and
never forget to have fun, you would fit right in.
