Taking the T-1,T-2 complex flat out (which is the only way to put in a fast
lap) is so friggin' hairy......every time I went through it I prayed I'd
make it! LOL.... I ran two ESCORT races there (a 6 hour and a 12 hour
race) back in the late 80's.......still gives me the shivers to think about
it.
I saw Lynn St.James go off in T-1 in front of me during a practice session
(in a Ford Probe ESCORT car)......I swear she had to be all the way back in
Chicago before her car came to a stop (completely totaled)! And, my
co-driver (Andy Evans) rolled our car in a practice session at the end of
T-2. It wasn't totaled, but it was done for the weekend, fortunately, BMW
had a back up car for us.
Oh wow, I'm gonna have nightmares all night long now! LOL....

*The* Andy Evans?

There's only one "Andy Evans" that I know involved in racing. He eventually
ran in IMSA (Ferrari's), then owned several IRL race cars (one Indy race I
think he had 7 cars in the race) and eventually he bought IMSA (but only
owned it for a short time). That's the Andy Evans I raced with for two
years....he was not much more than a "club driver" back then...I was the
senior driver on the team.

watching local superbike guys.. one guy drifts out and touches other..
outside guy goes off, stands up in motocross mode. 160+ mph.....
looking good. rained night before.... bike hits water,,, shoots up
about a 70yrd rooster tail of water. wiggles a little bit,, and goes down
HARD, and i mean HARD. he survived but numerous broken bones, and one
smashed bike.. those who have ran brainerd can relate, but on a bike...
ouch.... and i was thinking about roadracing bikes at brainerd, maybe not.

There is a buggy value title called ama superbike that has Brainerd.
You can find out just how brave you are by taking the big bikes out
and trying to hang on...

It's awesome that the track is being made for n2k3, I hadn't heard
anything about that until now; i'm looking forward to it.
