Error with GPLAIM

by Stev » Fri, 05 Apr 2002 10:33:49

I'm getting an error when I try and run GPLAIM v2.0.1. The error is "53 File
not found". I'm running Windows XP Pro. When I try it on my Windows NT 4.0
Pro computer, it runs, but since I don't have GPL installed on that PC, I
eventual get an error that it can't find GPL_ai file.

Does GPLAIM run under Windows XP? How can I get it to work?

Thanks!
Steve

Runs fine here on XP Pro (NTFS).  Maybe you got a bad download with a corrupted file?  Mine installed to C:\Program Files\GPLAIM.

I am getting ActiveX Error 439 Can't not Create Object, what to do?
How can I make sure all the GPLAIM files are installed properly?

To the best of my knowledge, there's nothing to install. It appears to be a
single executable.

I'm still at a lost as to why it won't run on my XP PC, but runs on my NT
PC.

Hi,
that's a patch you're trying.
You need to download 2.0.0. file, too. Install that, then overwrite .exe
with one from 2.0.1.
happy trying,

That's how I installed my copies, and I get the same error a lot,
along with: "438 Object does not support this property or method"
and a very strange sequence of notices claiming errors in ini
files at load. Such as claiming a particular "key" has a "corrupt value"
and giving me a line to search for. When I find it, it matches the
original  GPL ini file line exactly. I will get several of these notices
for different  lines, then the file loads. I finally found a way to deal
with it: I delete a  space on the line between the value and the
description. Then it's happy.  It can be any space, a delete with or w/o
a space bar press to replace.

Those niggling things aside I am blown away by the program.
