Has anyone had a look at this game yet? simracingnews.com has a brief
bit on it, but there doesn't seem to be a demo around :-(

Could you elaborate a bit?  I'm waiting on my copy to arrive, and I'd
like to hear why people don't like it.  Is it because it's not a
GPL-calibur kart sim, or is it because it falls into the "Test Drive
6" end of the spectrum?  If the handling is lively and the tracks are
fantasy tracks, I could still see it emerging as a good sim, much like
NFSPU, for example.

I'd love to hear someone elaborate a bit more on this.  Andre?
Anybody?

Hey John. It's totally arcade, and a bad one too. I spent 30 minutes
on playing this one and then deleted it. No split axis, badly
implemented ff, poor graphics, bad player cams (when you select the
'cockpit' view you don't see the front of your kart, yet the other
drivers look like giants). Total ***imho, but on the other hand, I
found Ford Racing and Sos'37 also total crap, our opinions seem to
differ a bit, so I think you should give this one a try anyway,
allthough I would be REALLY surprised if you like this one..

LOL!  From a *** driving simulators standpoint, I still might
have to classify Ford Racing and SoS as "total crap," but as
entertaining racing simulations, I found them to be interesting
diversions.  I have a feeling that if S1K is "GPL with little wheels,"
then Open Kart may be more like "NFSPU with little wheels" (or if it
IS total crap, "Test Drive 6 with little wheels" might be more
appropriate <G>).

Hopefully my copy will arrive soon so I can give you my $0.02 on the
subject.

;-)

NFS:PU does give the feeling of driving a car, allthough it's all a
bit overdone. S1k gives the feeling of driving a kart, allthough it's
also a bit off in some areas, but bottom line is that NFS:PU and S1k
are both excellent games and huge fun to play.

Open Kart isn't fun, so the Test Drive 6 comparison comes very close
imho :)

I'm very curious :)
