Just a question to see if any1 is interrested

Hi everybody,

I really enjoy playin racing sims, I even enjoy playing the older games every
now and then, Like Grand Prix Circuit(accolade) and Indy 500(papyrus).

These games are pretty old already (classical race sims). recently i was
thinking that i would be pretty cool if Accolade would release an updated
version of Grand Prix Circuit(my first racing sim on a PC, i think i played
pole position before that but that is available again). Maybe this is just a
stupid idea but i might be wrong.
Personally i would suggest that they keep all the original options and dont ad
anything like options to setup a car, even leave the original cars and
tracks(maybe ad the rest of the year they based it on). Only change the
graphics.

Please let me know what u people think of this and maybe they will do it.

That was the first racing sim I bought, I think it would be a good idea. But they
would have to do alot more than just upgrading the graphics. Better controls, more
compatabiltiy with the faster machines out now. But what other racing sim came
with a TRACK EDITOR! And that was roughly 4 or 5 years ago.

Thanx for your ideas, maybe they should have a choice to play the original(with
upgraded graphics) or to play the fully upgraded version

Why the hell would someone want to upgrade that dog?  It would be
terrible.  Of course, it was the only thing that would run on the
EGA 286s and 386s at that time, and I will admit to spending
countless hours at work trying to better my friend's lap
time at Detroit without understeering off at the tunnel
entrance, but if you were to load it up again, you would be
sadly disappointed.  Then again, if you mean produce an up-
to-date sim with 3dfx, proper renderings of the courses from 1987,
all of the cars from the end of the turbo era and drivers based
on Mansell, Prost, Senna and Boutsen....well, maybe not Boutsen,
than I'd agree.  You certainly would not want to play the
original.

Don't even get me started on Grand Prix Unlimited, the one
"endorsed" by Road and Track released in 1992.  I felt ripped
off the minute I loaded it up.  Sure, it had cute***pits
that represented Benetton, McLaren, Williams, Ferarri and the
mighty Tyrell, and you could edit tracks, but the actual tracks
looked nothing like the read world versions and were nothing
more than a series of 90 degree bends.  the driving "model"
was awful and to get a fast lap, one just threw the car into
the corner, listened to it make a terrible "ching-a-ching-a-
ching" noise, and then pressed the "go" button at the
appropriate time.  Sad.  Very sad.  luckily Microprose's
GP1 came along quickly thereafter and made us all forget these
horrible predecesors.
