hello, I changed the core.ini file in replay memory override to 64000 but my
replays are still pretty short...is there something else I need to change?
At a 40 lap race in Daytona if I go back to beginning it starts at lap 12.
Thank you for your help.

Make the override size bigger, like double or triple the current size,
depending on how much RAM you have installed.
I have 512Mb, and use an 256000 override size.

Pretty sure it's limited by RAM.

I have 512MB, and I can save an entire 3 hour RASCAR race.

One consideration is that the sim CAN actually save more data than the
default config saves.  Has he possibly increased the data aquisition during
a replay?  IIRC mine was adj by Replay Analyzer which cut my replay length
considerably.

Based on some recent testing the replay size is about 0.12-0.15mb per
minute per driver depending on the track.   So set your replay size to
cover the race time and the number of drivers (e.g. for 15 drivers a 45
minute replay will take about 80mb).

If you HAVENT changed the amount of data the replay is aquiring then yes
your formula works.  If you have changed it then NO your formula isnt even
close.

I just checked my system.  I have 384MB ram, and it looks like my replays
topped out at about 158MB.  The override setting was '0' - guess I'd better upp
it a bit...

Ah, yes, this was with default settings in the [Replay] section of core.ini. The
first two settings make sense, anyone have any idea what the different options
for record_telem_sample and record_telem_state_a are and what they affect?

[Replay]
record_telem=0                        ; Record telem to replay?
record_telem_at_physics_rate=0        ; using physics rate?
record_telem_sample=1
record_telem_state_a=8
record_telem_state_b=0                ; unused
