N99? Well???

by L. Andre Min » Tue, 01 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Hi All...

Been gone from RAS awhile, and now I'm thinking about picking up N99,
but have a few questions. First though, a quick breifing on my system,
etc.

N2/GN with zero problems. Full field of cars, almost 100% graphics. No
problem. Oh yes, I run thru DOS. Here's my questions:

Is N99 a DOS game?

Any increase in frame rates, or, has it taken a "hit" framerate wise,
and is slower than N2?

Will there be double file restarts on my "other" tracks (like Daytona
and Indy?) or am I stuck with the old track files for these two, hence
single file restarts?

Is the "10 Lap" rule in the restarts in effect? That is, if there's less
than 10 laps, do the cars revert back to single file restart as per
Nascar?

Any thing I need to be aware of?  Problems, etc?

Thanks to any and all that respond...

Andre

Dos for the 3versions and Windows for 3dfx/non-accelerated.

There seems to be a hit in 3dfx in the framerate that is unindentified yet,
but for the rest it's the same as N2.

At any track.

Yes it is.

It's mostly a bug-free simulator...

It's a DOS game.  It's a Windows Game.  It's a floor-wax :)

It's both.  If you do Multiplayer, it uses the old DOS .exe.

Frame rates are quite a bit lower in the windows version than I saw with
N2.  With N2, I never saw any track rendering.

Now, when on a straight, I see the upcomming turn being drawn.  It's
quite irritating.

To me at least...
