Hi All.

I recently installed a Diamond Monster 3dfx card in my system, wow what a
difference it made to Toca and I can even run  F1rs great, it made my P150
breath a new lease of life.
But i was wondering after installing the card I was told to install Directx5
again and it advises my to keep my exsisting Diamond drivers, should I
overwrite the with directx5 or not? it also says the same about my
soundblaster 16 drivers will I overwrite?.

Nope, just means that the drivers from those manufacturers already support
DX5 and don't need updating.  DX5 updates all other components that it sees
are out of date.  I agree with your reaction to the card - it's made a huge
difference in my P100!

you should overwrite the drivers definitely - i find it always says this
with drivers you have which are not generic.

Me too!

I wouldn't update your drivers.  It could cause problems with them if
you are using anything but the default configuration.  If it ain't
broke, don't fix it!

Ummm...very bad advice this is...very very bad. Unless of course you
have a real desire at playing the device driver tango.
