New Indycar Tracks When?

by e.. » Fri, 06 May 1994 20:18:47

A couple of weeks ago someone posted that they had heard that the expansion
tracks for indycar where due to be shipped out in the middle of May.

Does anyone know if this is true or not? If you do have they said what
tracks will be included.

I asked a clerk in a software store and he said that he hadn't heard anything
about it. But this isn't unlikely since when the game came out I asked them
when it was going to be in and they didn't know, then they proceeded to get
it two days later.

I was the guy who posted that.  All I can tell you is that I went into Babbages
software, looked in their release catalog, and found the following:

5/15/94         IndyCar Race Pack
5/15/94         IndyCar Race Pack and Add-On Tracks

Any other information isn't forthcoming, so I'd cross my fingers if I were you.

New Indycar Tracks When?

Here is the posting from Papyrus on CompuServe:

  Hi All,
I have some news about the rumored IndyCar Expansion Packages.  We are
in fact releasing two expansion packages for IndyCar.  One will be a seven
track pack with the following tracks - Mid-Ohio, Cleveland, Detroit,
Vancouver, Elkhart Lake, Surfers Paradise, and Phoenix.  The second package I
cannot say exactly what is is yet because of licensing issues :) (as soon as I
can I'll let you know).  I can say that this second package will have a full
featured RaceCar Paint Kit which will allow you to customize your cars and
even switch their order.  I know some of you have asked about that. Both
packages will have the latest version of the game as well as two utilites - a
replay edit utility and a settings print utility.  The replay cut utility will
allow you to cut and save out specific sections of a long replay.  This will
enable you to upload shortened versions of those great crashes :).  The
settings print utility will allow you to print to a file or a printer any
settings file in a specific format.  This will make it easy to upload and
trade them with friends.  Both utlities work outside the IndyCar Racing
  program.
These new expansion packages should hit the shelves some time in mid to
late May, if all goes well with the licensing.  Also, Elkhart Lake, because of
its size (4 miles), will need more than 4Mb to run.  Definately 8Mb and
possibly 6, although that isn't exactly clear yet :).

                                       -Adam, Papyrus
This morning on CompuServe, a message was posted that seemed to support that they
are very close to shipping.

Any guesses as to what the second package will be??  My guess is Indy.
