The new(IHRA)one that Bethesda is Releasing sounds like it could be
really good. Right now the best one is either Hot Rod Championship
Racing: Players Choice Edition or NIRA, depends on what you like. They
are both made by Bethesda.
Actually I was just racing Burn Out(The original)Online. I was Racing
Heads up Pro-Stocks, to give GPL a rest. You can run Burn Out at Mplayer
and it's pretty fun if you into that kind of thing. My Pro-Stock W/IHRA
restrictions is a Pontiac with 500ci 1700hp and 900lbs of torque doing

lot's of options. :)

check them out at www.bethsoft.com
If your interested check out www.shra.com it's a well run online league
for the Players Choice edition.

Why? Do you hate braking and turning?

Is that ignorant remark really necessary Tim?

No Tim, I used to race go karts and to have some stupid kid half you age
turn you into a wall at the end of a straight at 70 MPH is *** this old
body. I have been into drag racing most of my life, but now rasing three kids
sims are cheaper. I think that covers it, fill better?

Just wait a couple of years... 3 free mechanics!! ;-))

Seriously, I thought BurnOut by Bethesda was pretty good. Analog controller
support was poor, but otherwise ok I thought. Have to point out that I don't
know the first thing about dragracing other than you must start to react
before the lights go green and you need to cover 1/4 mile faster than the
other guy.

I also never understood the bracket racing thing in there. After a while I
figured out some of the settings to go faster and I still ended up loosing
even when I had a faster ET than the other guy??

bracket racing you can go TOO fast - the challenge is dialing in at a
time and running as close to it without "breaking out" - beat your
dial in time, you lose...  also, et doesn't determine the winner,
first one to the line wins which very often results in a lower et
losing to a hole shot artist...

I've only seen two - Burn Out, which was fair just because somebody
finally made one - and NHRA Drag Racing from Tantrum that I picked up
having never seen any mention of it cause the price was worth ***
on it being good - which it seems to almost be - the sound is very
well done,  you can adjust almost everything including clutch lock up,
blower overdrive, nitro content, cylinder pressure, etc. - it's Top
Fuel only, dragster and funny car but it's nicely done from what I've
seen and the wipeouts are very detailed - unfortunately I haven't
messed with it much because I haven't been able to get things set
right to get replays and it puts me off to the point that i don't want
to mess with it if i can't watch the replay (they do work, it's just
my 'puter that's not right, a friends system shows them fine... )  it
also doesn't get along too well with my old T2 (end up using the gear
shift for throttle and brake 'cause it doesn't see the pedals)

Huh?? You have to call them at a certain time? ;-)

Just kidding. I get it: you have to say up front how long it will take you
to get to the finish line and hope you haven't underestimated yourself. I
already knew a faster ET can be beaten by the other guy getting away first,
but I was getting to the line first and still lost, which I thought was
rather unfair.<g>

I could never figure out Burnout.  I think I won one or two races, at the most.
And, I'm sure what I did right that time, or what I do WRONG the rest of the
time...
