I guess you just accidently forgot to mention you need to send money to
get this "book."

Now why can't those stupid people that cancel binary posts to non-binary
groups also cancel SPAMs?!

all you have to do is use a reader that will cancel the post. Change

Chris !  It worked !  I just cancelled four new Autoloc ads a little
while ago by changing my Free Agent e-mail address settings
to match that of the Spammer.   I had four new article headers,
but i retrieved bodies for two of em.   After i cancelled the 4 ads,
i waited a few hours and tried to retrieve the 2 other bodies and
Free Agent says "this article is no longer available" !!    I tried
to retrieve them via Netscape as well and they're not even on
the server and never showed up.  Cool.   New hobby for me !!

 Randolio the Cancellator !!

DANGER!  Third-party cancels are frowned upon by the USENET community in
general.  You are exploiting a loophole in the news exchange protocol.
Your local newsserver may have accepted the cancel, but many will not act
on it unless there's many other header lines filled in as well.

Don't let this go to your head, because I've got a cancel-your-cancel
program running to automatically take care of your abuse, and I can easily
turn it loose on all your posts as well. :-)

The charter of this group says "unmoderated", which means NOT moderated in
any way, including retro-moderation.  Don't earn the spot on my dart board
next to the picture of Richard Depew, the leader of the self-appointed news
police.....

If you really want to know how to cancel, you need to read the RFCs.
There are  six or seven, look them for the current versions.

Of course, if the wrong person catches him canceling a post (and there
are those of us who know how to track a cancel, hint hint  :-), your ISP
may find him/herself deluged with requests to remove your account.

And history shows that, abuses to the contrary, Netcom and AOL and the
two most willing to chop a user at the knees.

Depew is his own ISP.  Which I guess made him god.

Hmm, soapbox under my feet.

 Arthur,

I agree and after thinking about what i did i cancelled my own post
the same day as i posted it,  as i can see how this can be abused.
I apologize for my transgression and will not take the law into my
own hands this way.

Oh, Like I am hard to find?
My e-mail & my real name are on all of my post. I have nothing to
hide. I would tell you If I canceled a post for spams. If I didn't
want you to know you wouldn't trust me!! <VEG>

Abuse, hah, hahaha The only Abuse is the posting of Spams!!
It is not like I would cancel a real article even if I didn't agree
or like the opinion of whoever is flaming/or dissagreeing with me.

No, Depew is getting a UUCP feed from somewhere.  Only his own arrogance
made him think he's god.  (Note no capital "G"!)  If you too would like to
see how the Depew-monster evolved from a professor of microbiology to
USENET's most despised trash, see if your library has "The Chronicles of
Higher Education", May 12, 1993.  The picture on page A21 makes a neat
dartboard cover!

I wish somebody would SYN flood his ISP until they disconnected him.

Sure beats crosshairs over his heart..... :-)

C'mon folks-this is getting ridiculous. People post to several
newsgroups to get as much info as possible, not to***you off. If you
don't like-mark it unread and get on with your life.
