GP500 Req's for racing...

Help!  I'm running GP500 on the following system...

300mhz Pentium Celleron
96mb RAM
Monster Fusion

I guess thats all you need to know for the following question.  I've
tried to run races and it is just too laggy.  I've been as low ass 8
bikes at 480x640 (or whatever that low res is) with minimal graphics and
its still laggy as hell.  Runs just fine by myself with the ghost at
600x800 standard graphics.  I am also running the game under 3dfx mode
(not d3d) just because it wouldn't allow it when I first tried.  Here
are the questions...

1) how can I make it better?
2) how can I get d3d to run on my Fusion?  (what's the command\button to
rechoose the settings)

thanks,

gday mate ... long time

make sure you have forcefeedback disabled in the gp500.ini file ... there is
a problem with it really slowing up the game. I believe it was thrown in at
the last minute. (***y publishers) also check in at gp500.net ... Mark
Dodd has posted some benchmarking strings that you can try to find out where
the slow down is ... it could be the sound card (not too sure about that
one)

i have a banshee card as well and find the game faster in glide than d3d ...
but there is a config exe in the start menu that will let you change between
the two

PII 233, 64MB RAM, V3 3000.

With everything cranked up to the max, I'm smooth as can be.
