It seems ludicrous to spend $35 on Steam for Race 07 when Gogamer has it for
$19, plus a few bucks for shipping.

I'll get mine via Gogamer.  Can't find the game at any stores in my area--
Ohio, USA.

It is a good deal in the UK though at 17 or so. 25 in most shops I
believe.

Plus VAT, which takes it much closer to the retail price. I'm still
undecided about buying it, but I've enjoyed GTR2 (which I bought for that
GTL mod but couldn't get it working) recently, which is making me
reconsider Race 07.

I like Steam as a distribution method, but it does make it too easy to
buy things on the spur of the moment and then regret it later! :-)

Hi Andrew,

Race07 is a big improvement over 06. Improved physics, sound, FFB and
the graphics engine tweaked a bit. Some of the add on series seem a bit
as if they felt they had to add new content to justify the upgrade - and
they are probably right - there will be people that will complain if it
is perceived as an upgrade.

I believe Race07 will prove to be the best modern day saloon car sim
available. Not too sure how the open wheelers will stack up at this
stage - not tried them enough, but they don't have quite the initial
quality of the touring cars on first impression.

It is moddable too - I have already added Donington available from nogrip!

Power & Glory for GTR2 is the best for historic saloons IMHO.

Cheers

I think that's why I'm reluctant to bite, Tony. The closer an update
comes to the previous incarnation, the less value for money you're likely
to be getting.

I may stick with the Maserati in GTR2 for a while longer. I love the
sound that car makes. It's almost as pretty as the original GPL Ferrari.
:-)

Thanks for your thoughts on Race07 so far though.

That's a ridiculously low price! Thanks Scott. As soon as the postal
service gets back to normal I'll try them out.

It looks like they realised it was too. :-) Someone missed a tenner off
the proper price.
