inoperable wheel buttons on Nascar Pro

by Bill Jone » Sat, 14 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I've had the Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Wheel since August, and the two
buttons on the wheel stopped working recently.  Anyone have any ideas on
how to fix this or what could be wrong?

I don't know if TM ever changed the design on the NASCAR Pro, I just
sent mine in after a year for problems with the buttons.  I hope they
have a new design.  The shaft of the wheel has a slot with sharp edges,
the wiring to the buttons runs through it.  As the wheel is turn fully
in either direction the metal rubs on the wiring, and it eventually will
wear through.  I would suggest contacting Thrustmaster and get a RMA or
a repair kit.  The best way to contact them is via the following URL:

Wow! This is weird. I too have had the same problem just recently. Ever
since GPL in fact. I saw the wheel back-n-forth so much I assume I severed
the wires. I plan on going back to CompUSA buying another, then returning
the old, hehe works everythime

another thing that can cause the buttons to quit is if the***is too
tight and bottoms out in the shaft, it can squash the wires.  Either way,
you need to take the wheel apart and resotter.
