T2 not being recognized

by Dasp » Thu, 04 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I have a Thrustmaster T2 wheel with pedals. It has been a while since I pulled
it out, but I decided to race GP2 again and when I went to plug it in, the
computer could not recognize it. I plugged the T2 in, went to Control
Panel-Game controllers, pressed add new controller, scrolled down to T1/T2 with
adapter, and the status said not connected. When I went to calibrate it, a
screen popped up and said this device not connected properly or something to
that effect. I tried it several times I even tried to do a custom config. but
that still gave me the same problems. Obviously I checked the connection
several times but it was plugged in. My Gravis pad and Microsoft Flight stick
work perfectly yet the computer can't "see" the T2. The T2 worked fine on my
old 166 windows 95, but now I have a P2 350 windows 98 and this doesn't work.
Any Help would be appreciated, driving with a digital gamepad is no fun.

Thanks
Chris

Sorry I meant to say F1RS not GP2. Either way the computer still doesn't
recognize the wheel.

Thanks for any help.

I have the same problem. T2 stopped being recognized after I played NHL with
gamepads.  I would really love to fix this , so if you learn of a solution
please post it.

Any input device you use *MUST* be setup on ID#1 in the
Control Panel Joystick applet. Also you should use TM's
instructions for setting up the T2. Namely select CUSTOM
Device and check the box for car controller. Also make sure
you have the adapter which puts both axis on the first joystick.
Older T2's (before Nov95) had their axis on joystick 1 & 2.

Your T2 must be selected as the #1 device.  Try removing your other
devices and only add the T2.  Try both with adaptor or without
adaptor options.  You also may want to try using Thrustmaster's ProPanel
applet instead of the Game Controllers.
