I'm not sure if someone has brought this up here before, but this was on
JV's site. Anyone know exactly what simulator he's using? Here is the
report:

No rest for Villeneuve
August 7: Jacques has installed a state of the art F1 simulator on his boat.
BAR star Villeneuve is spending time on his yacht during the current August
break, but as the French/Canadian's trainer told British newspaper The Sun
recently this doesn't mean he is taking a complete break from the sport.
Villeneuve has installed a racing simulator on-board the yacht, which
mirrors racing conditions as well as helping him maintain his fitness
levels. Jacques' new toy is reportedly an exact replica of his BAR***pit,
complete with steering wheel and seatbelts, and the 30 year old can even use
a computer to change temperatures and humidity.
"He has a copy of the***pit that he sits in, which is fixed with seatbelts
and a steering wheel," trainer Erwin Gollner explained.
"He's working against weights on the steering during a session. The training
we are doing is very tough, but it is necessary, so he does it. The
importance of being fit in an F1 car is crucial, as any driver will tell
you. Teams do not want to lose out due to human error."
"But you can't compare f1 with other sports. For a racing driver, it is not
necessary that he's a quick runner. And if you look at runners, there are
sprinters, 800m runners, and marathon runners. Look at skiers. There's
slalom, Super G or downhill. You can't compare one with the other. Every one
is a special discipline. Drivers to normal aerobic exercises, but also they
should do specific training on the neck and so on. In two weeks we have four
training days of about six hours each. Jacques does gym work, running and
cycling. There are all good for cardiovascular performance. I would say
everything helps a little bit, but it's necessary to do specific work as
well."

Faster-than-light travel is indeed possible, though research into economical
methods has been systematically suppressed by headlamp manufacturers
and their agents in the Congress.
