When I change the video option to Rendition from software mode and
restart the game it goes right back to software mode. I checked the
app.ini and it did write the file to renddll.dll but when i start the
game it doesn't take. The options screen goes back to none for 3d
accelerator. Any thoughts??

I have an Intense 3D 100, Windows 98.

Do you have RRedline compatible drivers installed (i.e. not the default
V1000 drivers that ship with Win98)?

I too have the old V1000 Intergraph board. When I first went to W98
and loaded the latest Intergraph drivers N2 would start up and go to a black
screen. When I loaded the Microsoft drivers N2 will run. So I can run N2
with Microsoft drivers and not GPL or Intergraph with there drivers and not
N2. Theres has got to be a work around on this.

I tried the latest redline drivers and GPL worked but Nascar2 stopped
working. Went to black screen before Papyrus splash screen. Went back to
native win98 rendition drivers and Nascar2 works GPL doesn't. Any way to
have both worlds??

Which RRedline drivers did you use, Rendition's reference drivers or the
ones from your card's manufacturer?

A few threads up I discussed all of this, here it is. Just change to your
situation.

If you are having problems switching from Rendition to 3DFX this is how
I had to do it.

1. Re-install GPL ( first remove everything)
2. During the install select 3DFX as your card
3. Once installed, Go to your GPL folder and create an appbck folder
4. Within your appbck folder create two sub folders and name them:
3DFX & Rendition

5. Copy your current app file into your 3DFX sub folder. The app file
will have a line in it:

Graphics ]
lastRasterizerDLL = rast3dfx.dll ; Last rasterizer DLL selected

6. Get back in GPL and select options and select Rendition, click on
ok, and then click on the green box, then exit back out of the sim.

7. Go to your GPL folder. Your app will now have a line in it:

[ Graphics ]
lastRasterizerDLL = renddll.dll ; Last rasterizer DLL selected

8. Copy this app file into your Rendition sub folder you created
earlier.

9. Now if you want to change cards you will have to copy either your
Rendition app file or your 3DFX app file into the GPL folder.

This is the only way I could get the sim to recognize my Voodoo2 card
after selecting the Rendition card in the sim. Once I selected the
Rendition card in the sim, I could not get the sim to recognize the 3DFX
card.

I used the latest drivers from Intergraphs site

along with BIOS 105 from the Intergraph site.

The problem I had was not the ability to change cards. I actually got an
error message with the Microsoft drivers and the game wouldn't start. See
previous posts by me and Angle for hardware and driver info. If anyone has
a solution please post.

if when switching to rendition your screen goes all nuts, check the readme
about the password setting, or login with 'cancel'.
