: But could someone enlighten me- why would it have been exclusively
: released on Hawaii? I mean, if, after 8 months, the patch is ready, it
: is ready, and Sierra should make it freely (internet) available.
: Connecting to Hawaii costs money, and I think of it as a NASCAR site,
: right? So is (was) this an attempt to wring yet a little more money
: out of us? Please, someone explain if I am missing something here-
: I've never been on Hawaii (out of my budget), and maybe I'm getting
: something wrong here. But from my point of view it looks a bit like
: they've added insult to injury. Sort of like the "send your CD with
: $15 for the Win95 CD" renig on their promise.
Well, I don't have any inside scoop on this, but reading between the
lines.... Papyrus did us a favor by placing the patch EARLY on Hawaii.
Knowing the extreme lag time Sierra has for updating their web site and
ftp site with patches, I want to thank Papyrus for taking the bull by
the horns and letting the cat out of the bag. I mean Sierra STILL
doesn't have a paintkit patch on their internet sites!!!!!
I would like to think that some far-thinking soul at Papyrus knew that
the patch would make it to their loyal fans by placing it on Hawaii.
They didn't even have to announce it. And thanks to a couple of kind
fellow r.a.s.'ers we have the patch available via the internet:

Now, let's count the days it takes Sierra to make it available.... They
missed today!! We won't count the weekend, so that's 1 so far...
