I have heard a lot of people talking about IVGA. Could someone
please tell me what it is. Do I need it?
Thanks in Advance

"No Friends at 200MPH, Only Fans"
IVGA BRIEF: The IVGA is an organization that was founded on the premise
that video simulation *** is a BRAINSPORT and recognizes that individual
can THINK and REACT to the demands of computer simulations. We know it takes
special mental skills to drive a virtual racing car and have yet to find
any real race car drivers that can run with INTERNETS best. The IVGA is the
home of the very serious, hard-core and best drivers in the world. Unlike
other INTERNET RACING SERIES, the IVGA is a commercial enterprise. We use
advanced software technology to provide continuous integrity and technical
inspection and monitoring of drivers while they are either RACING or
attempting for a world record FASTLAP. Our goal, like NASCAR, is to
eliminate HACKING by using special software during the entire racing process.
In our series we have no rules for cheating and we have no reprimands,
banishments, threats as its not possible as we monitor the events with
custom technical inspection software.
As games and simulations become more complex, realistic and
interactive, the IVGA has recognized the need for a world-wide
standard of a set of rules, regulations, sanctioning and controls
for interactive multi-player competition.
Within this group you will not only find only the very serious,
hard-core and the best virtual competitors in the world, but also
beginners searching on how to improve their virtual driving skills.
We will begin our quest by first providing a standard set of rules
for the three most popular, award-winning auto racing simulations:
World Circuit (WC), IndyCar Racing (ICR) and NASCAR Racing (NCR),
to establish the IVGA within the *** community, and then expand
from there by adding more simulated games for all platforms, from
the PC to the MAC, DOS to Windows 95, to Nintendo/Sega, etc. And
will include all sports simulations and simulations in general,
showing a need for a set standard rules of competition.
With WC, ICR and NCR being extremely competitive and popular, there
have been home-bred racing series popping up all over the world. From
local BBS's, to the most popular networking services. This type of
game play is prevalent.
Inherent to the intensity of this type of competition is the
temptation to "hack" your way to being a top rated player. It is the
IVGA's goal to eliminate any possible way of cheating. We will
educate and regulate the game players, but most importantly, we will
inform the programmers of game and simulation to provide us with
the tools to detect hacking.
In many cases, these tools are already available. When a software
company accepts the IVGA standards, and provides us with the tools
to detect cheating, they will receive the IVGA SEAL OF APPROVAL,
and their software will be listed among the other IVGA interactive
regulated games and scoreable games. The IVGA programmers on our
staff, have devised ways to detect and prevent cheating within WC,
ICR and NCR.
The scoring software is presently being beta-tested, and a refined,
perfected product will soon be available to the public.
Just as with the Software component of simulations there is a
side which IVGA will evaluate for usefulness with some of these games.
Here, everything from JoySticks, Wheels, Pedals, Rudders, Voice Entry,
Sound, Graphics and Computers will be tested. These results will be
made available in a consumer report form.
IVGA's R&R's will cover everything from hot laps, to league-type
competitions, Ladder Competitions and Multi-player Real-Time Events.
We will sanction the leagues, if the participating league wishes
their results recognized by the IVGA.
IVGA INTERNET: The IVGA will provide a central location for the
BBS's/gamers to send their results to, and provide several networked
locations throughout the United States, and the world. These results
will be compiled and posted at the most popular sites, such as
Compuserve, America On-Line, Prodigy, Genie AND the IVGA Domain on
the Internet for World Wide Web Pages of Event. They will include
Hot Lap Records and Year-To-Date Standings.
