Am I missunderstanding some of the posts I've read here, that they are
not going to try and fix the lurch problem for N2?   Or that the patch
that is up now, will be the last patch?   Pleas tell me I've got this
wrong.  :-)

I understand your confusion.  I recall a post from Charlie Heath which
on the surface sounded as if this was it for "fixing" N2.  I hope I
mis-read this message.  I am still confident that Papy will fix this
naggling problem.  They still have another product to sell that is tied
to N2 (NRO).  This and a few other problems can not be overlooked if
they hope to cash in on this wonderful new concept (sanctioned simulated
racing).

On the other side, I have heard enough to know that Papyrus is busy
gathering information to help track down this and other problems.  Give
them a little time (hopefully a lot less than the 1st patch), and
88.756% of you will be happy.
