If you mean Sports Car GT by Electronic Arts and ISI...you can't.
Simply doesn't have the abilities.  Still, one awesome game with loads
of patches...got my Porsche 917 up to 993 hp and down to 1800 lbs, let
me tell you, that is FUN!!!! =)

What do you mean by abilities?  We used to run it online and meet up at a
Yahoo chat room for scgt.  It ran well with sub 500ms ping times to host.
There just never were many players out there :(  Wanna meet in the Kali
Racing server?

So how does this work?

In the manual it says -- "it doesn't support internet games"

Maybe if you knew the IP address of a given server the game
might be able to progress - but I think its expecting to sit
straight onto a TCP/IP network, rather than connect
via a modem to the Internet and search across it for
SCGT servers.

In truth.. I don't know - if you can do this via a dial up
I would be grateful for details...

Steven,

If you are connected to the internet, be it dialup, cable, dsl, or whatever
gets you to your internet service provider, then you're on a very large
TCP/IP network... :-)

You can join races by typing in the host's IP address in the appropriate
location.  This would require that the host made their IP address available
to you, thus the reason why you should go to the Yahoo chat room... to strike
up conversations and get a host's IP address.

You can host races by first giving others, whom you want in your race, your
IP address, then set up the race host and wait for others to join.

I don't know enough about SCGT multiplayer to know if direct modem to modem
play is available, but if it supports TCP/IP, then it should support
internet play in the way I described above.

Hope this helps...

Sure, you can do all this, but I have not ever connected with another
person and been able to race with them. Even setting my computer to
640*480 and a cable modem did not allow for online racing with SCGT.
It was an online 'bunny-hop' race that left me laughing for several
minutes. It was entertaining, but not racing. We were both online, but
could not see each other, and when you could see each other the lag
was too high. Spent a week trying to get it to work acceptable, and
gave up.

They just don't want you complaining when you need cable or adsl to play over
the internet.  I hold a SCGT Fun Run every Sunday from 7:30pm to 8:30pm-ish
Eastern time.  If you like racing with the Advanced Editor Options set to Pure
Sim and slick grass then email me or ICQ me at 647521.  You must like using the
road and not cutting corners with all 4 tires off the road -- ie pro racing but
just open.

Jason.

Wierd.  Even the non patched SCGT worked ok for me online.  Others had some
problems.  Later, with the patched version, I was able to race regularly
with 56k connects.  Did you have a slow computer acting as host?
