With the same hardware, which will give the best framerate?
Windows 95 or Windows 98?

I have:

ASUS V3400TNT
ASUS P2B
SB PCI64

Except if you're trying to run LucasArts' Outlaws from The Zone. Win98 is
TERRIBLE with that game. Sometimes I wish I stuck with Win95 OSR2
everytime I want to play online.

As to answer the question about framerates, since GPL is locked at 36fps
you'll never see anything above that. My Celery at 374 gives off between
24-36fps and at 450 pretty much the same thing. This is with Win98.

With my experiences, I have found Win 95 to be more reliable.  I guess it is
all having to do with what your computer likes.

|Everyone's experience is different, but Win98 is 'snappier' than Win95
|and I also suspect that the framerate is slightly better.

I find the following results on these PCs:

1: Celeron 300a at 450
Matrox Millenium G200 (using special driver for GPL as well)
64 MB SDRAM
SB AWE64 ISA
IBM 8.4 GB Hard drive
20-30 fps, can only have up to about 10 AI cars without going below 20...

Diamond Stealth II S220 (Rendition, 4MB)
64 MB SDRAM
SB-16 clone, ISA
Western Digital 6.4 GB Hard drive
NEVER NEVER NEVER drops below 34 fps, even with all AI....never raced
online, though...

Both systems run Win98.
