non-FF wheel out there w/ good pedals and preferably a sequential shifter...and
wouldn't cost more than $200 or so?  I currently have a TM Nascar Pro...I like
the feel of the pedals and the sequential shifter and the shape of the
wheel...but the pot on it is shot and I don't really want to hassle anymore
with pots and bungees.

I also would like people's FF wheel suggestions and opinions as well.

God bless,
Loren

IMO you cant get what you want for less than $200.  The tsw2 stock
comes closest at $220 and is well worth it.

I have a Microsoft Sidewinder FF Wheel and I'm really satisfied with it.
There is a version of MS Sidewinder Wheel without FF too.

MS Sidewinder Wheel doesn't look as cool as a Logitech Wheel, but I don't
care :)

The non-FF Microsoft wheel is called the Precision Racing Wheel, and for 45
(uk) it's not bad.  I bought one so I could use the pedals with the wheel
from my LWFF.  Also the new MSFF usb version has some kind of driver bug
which slows down GPL and Sports Car GT.

I've use the MSFF, LWFF and TSW2.  TSW2 is the best made of the three by
FAR.  It's metal, wood and a little plastic.  Can't beat the value.  I'm
just hooked on FF so I don't use mine at all.  BTW, if you're considering FF
the LWFF is a better wheel than MSFF.  I did a LONG comparison a few months
ago that you can search on remarq or dejanews.

But *do* try them yourself (if the shop won't let you, don't give them
your custom...) I'vr tried both LWFF and MSFF, and as far as I'm
concerned the MS wheel wins comfortably. It's probably a minority view,
but it's what I'm comfortable with, and it's what I'll stick with.

You'd be much better off buying yourself a set of CH Pedals for the
45.00 Nosher. They are just the perfect addition for the LWFF, and
your lap time will improve as soon as you get used to them. also your
braking will impose dramatically as your able to brake and accelerate
more gradually because of the greater travel of the pedals.

Where can you get CH Pedals in the UK?

Thanks

Hi

Read your post in RAS about using the Logitech FF wheel with the CH
pedals,? I did not know you could mix and match.? Would be nice to get
pedals I could use for racing and flying.? Are there any "tricks" to
setting this up?

Thanks

Well, no tricks apart from the fact that I have the CH Pedals
connected to a PDPI L4, but they will work fine from you soundcard's
game port. Once installed GPL will see them straight away and its a
matter of assigning controls to it.

Mauricio.
