After installing the final patch I can no longer see the intro movies or
cut scenes. Both are turned on under general options. Anybody with the
same problem?

I cannot see the "Racing School" videos, or whatever they are.
But, on my computer (Gateway P-Pro-200, 48MB RAM, Matrox Mystique video
card) system, I couldn't see them before OR after the patch.
It starts with a "notepad" splash-screen, then goes black screen. Not
locked up, but it just sits there (waited ten minutes, or so). I exit by
clicking the File menu, then Exit, which closes the game.
Anyone solved this problem?

I downloaded the 4.3 Indeo drivers last night, have re-installed the DirectX
5.0 from the CPR CD-ROM, and the Racing School still doesn't work. Pressing
the Rac. School button on the start screen flashes a notepad graphic on the
screen, then the screen goes black with the menus at the top of the screen,
and just sits there.
Also, I changed my graphics accelerator setting (Control Panel, System,
Performance, Graphics) to Full Acceleration.
Any other ideas?

So Microsoft CART started working perfectly when Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4 was installed? Shock. That's exactly the sort of thing that
turns people off Microsoft, I'm surprised the team never checked it
with all browsers.
Unless the box requirements stated that a copy of MSIE4 was required,
you'd be entitled to take this back and demand a refund, since the
requirements for using the game were mis-specified.
Cheers!

I am using IE 3.02 all seems to work fine. If you dont specifically need
IE 4.0 I would stay away from it for awhile till all the reported problems
with it are resolved. Also if you have AGP there seems to be a know
conflict with IE 4.0 according to DELL. Mike

This sort of thing doesn't bother me too much (after all, I'll just
keep using Netscape as my actual browser), but my wife finds it
insidious and I often see her swearing during installation processes!
