#1 choice Steering Wheel
#2 choice Joystick
...for me anyway...
The gamepad is an all or nothing control method: You either turn all the
way or not at all. You can't 'gradually' or 'slightly' turn (or feather
the gas, brakes, etc.). The gamepad works as a simple on/off controller
while a wheel or Joystick allows a wide range of movement.
I have a Gravis Gamepad but I wouldn't use it for racing sims. Back when
I first got Nascar1 that is all I had to use and I QUICKLY moved up to a
joystick. My times and driving got MUCH better (smoother), as did my
setup ability. I've since gotten a T2 wheel and a steering wheel is my
favorite controller for the sims.
...Just my opinion...I could be wrong...what? Nahhhhhhhh never happen
;o)
Good Luck,
Alan
