rec.autos.simulators

I just can not get GP3 to load a race. I have read the readme file and made
the appropriate changes to the card.ini file, and made sure my drivers are
upto date (and also tried those graphics drivers supplied with the game).
But no joy. I can only get as far as the option screens, but when I try and
enter a race, I crash back to desktop. This is very frustrating and I can
not remember the last time  anew game was so temperamental on my machine.
Any help appreciated.
I have a P2 450 with 2x12mb Monster Diamond V2 cards and 256mb ram.

This may be a red herring but, here it is anyway...
My experience with GP3:
loaded OK while I used default wheel settings
switched to the Ferrari wheel (the wheel I use) settings that come on
the CD
and I could not start a race
switched back to the default, and I am back runing
I just use the same button for gear changing up and down.
only bought the game last night so it is still not 12 hours old
so I have not investigated what is going on

I can only suggest that you play around with a diffrent Control setup
maybe try keyboard instead of wheel (or whatever you use)
and see if the problem is still there
