I have heard good things about Microprose's F1GP2, and intend to buy it.
I have a serial-link cable connected to my mate's computer. I know
F1GP2 has a serial-link option, but what I would like to know is: For
serial play, do both players have to purchase a copy of the game, or is one
copy sufficient?

There is a utility available from most good gp2 web sites called
nocdrom.zip.
This utility enables you to install gp2 so that you do not need the cd to
play.
Of course, I only use it because I cannot be arsed to insert & remove the
cd all the time!!!!!
