I think new groups may be created:
rec.autos.simulators.f1gp
rec.autos.simulators.nascar
rec.autos.simulators.icr
(.../...)
What do you think about that.

I don't feel that traffic is high enough yet to warrant a split,
and a split on particular games is not the way to go since games
become old and eventually disappear. If you consider the above
to be genre-based (e.g. f1gp = any F1 game, icr = any indycar game)
then maybe.
However, people seem to be really good in subject lines in specifying
which game they are concerned with. This allows one to make kill files
that really do work.

This is definitely my favourite group out of all the ones I subscribe
to and I see no reason to split what is already a very focussed group.
Compare the occasional bit of noise here to something like
comp.lang.c++. And as it happens I rather enjoyed the
Byron-Bryon/Ralf/Peter/et al exchanges!
This group isn't that busy and what do you do with the other sims that
come along later? MPS' superbike, Touring Cars etc? And Revs!! A group
for each game? Or even racing category. What about discussions on
appropriate joysticks, soundcards, hardware related to the running of
both Nascar v1.2 and Indycar v2.0 (when available), and even track
design (a popular topic if you've been here a while)? Crosspost? No
thanks. And then there's the topics on brake balance that Ivan's been
involved in, directed from the F1gp game but relevant to all. There's
plenty more if you stop to think about it.
No, No, No, No, No.

Don't split up the group - it's reached quite a
good size and most people are interested to a
greater or lesser degree in all of the above games.
Fraser.
I don't think there's anywhere near enough volume of posts here to
justify all the hassle of splitting the group. If you really, really
want to do something, how about volunteering to set up some
mailing lists? (And no, I can't supply details as to how you
go about this.)
