I can not seem to be even close when it comes to qualifing at Dega.

Could anyone please send by the preferred qualifing line or a good setup
that you have used to run high 197's or even 198+.

Thanks in advance.

I've only been able to run a low 195 in qualifying. This is due to the
fact you aren't in the draft in qual, so your lap times in the race will
be higher.

Best line:

On lap before the green, stay high exiting turn 4.  Staying high helps
you to build up as much speed as possible before you take the green.

From there you keep your left side tire just inside the white line in
turns 1,2,3,4.  When you exit 4 go to the top immediatly because the
tri-oval is the most important turn of all.  Your goal here is to
straignten this turn out, or cut it off.  If your successful you will
scrub off very little speed and will not hit the wall.

Lastly, don't be surprised of higher speeds.  There is some cheating
going on in qualifying.  I have heard of people Qualifying faster by
cutting the track by going through the pit lane on the final lap.
This cuts off a considerable amount of the track.
Remember qualifying is not decided by the speed you run.  In NASCAR
they take the lap time to determine speed, so cutting off as much of
the track without losing speed is the goal.

Weekend Racer.  Gotta Lovitt
work hard and spend your money
racing.

Pmfji..
As far as the speeds go it seems to me that it has a lot to do with
the server on any particular night.  I've been using the same Dega
setup all along and  I can tell  you straight out for sure that I've run
from the 194's thru the 197's with it.
And it seems to affect everyone...One night I'm doing 204 down the
backstretch, the next I barely crack 199 Same setup, same line.
Just my .02

Well that could just be the weatheer settings, just a temp change from
120 to 70 will cause that difference :-)

Well,

All i\I have say about this is yes some guys do cheat in qual at DEga
but most do not I would sat 98% don't a 198.3 to 197 is very possible
without cutting pits.My usual qual is 197.9, with alot of 198's and I do
not cheat.and I have necer had nights that I have qual. at 194 unless I
screwed up in qual and wrecked or it is a very low temp.

You might also look at the temperature they are running at, weather
that is, not tire temp. Higher temps make the cars go faster so this
affects how well you qualify.
