When i try to load this program (approx 1.44MB file size) my PC
comes up with the funny one liner ,not enough memory to run
lotus, i have a 386sx16 with 4MB RAM ,can anyone give me any
suggestions as to why it would not work? If this is the wrong
place to discuss this , can anyone point me in the right
direction? Also ,if i have this problem ,will Microproses , F1
grand prix work?

If this simulator is a pure DOS Application, then extended memory is useless.
Some driving simulators do need more than 600 KByte of conventional
memory. Remove
all your TSR programs , move your DOS to HighMemory and try again. When
you need
a config.sys example file, mail me

I also have the same problem on a faster 486sx33 4MB , is it
cause by the same thing ,ie my computer is loadin too much into
the memory in the wrong places ,so it is all full before Lotus
gets a go ?> HELP!

Just a guess, but the program probably wants to load in the first
640K. Remove all memory resident programs and optimize your config.sys
so that as much as possible gets loaded into highmem. The program
probably requires close to 600K to run so you need to be very good
about setting up your config.sys. Hope this helps

I guess it's time we created alt.microsoft.dos.newbie.die-die-die!!
The answer is YES! DOS is a dog. I'm running a 486/33 w/16 megs, and I
STILL have to QEMM the heck out of my TSR's to come close to running anything
in terms of games that are good.
On a more relevant note - F1GP is my personal favorite. Just for kicks, I
enjoy NOT qualifying and still coming in top 3 in the points race. In fact, I
just managed to actually WIN a season this way!!
