Don't forget Agent (Free Agent)!  The Agent newsreader is great also.
It can be found at:

Free Agent is the downloadable newsreader, and Agent is the "licensed"
version when purchased.  IMHO it is well worth it, and supports the
same features listed above.  It sounds like either one will do the job
for those who want the feature sets (kill/watch filters, etc.).

Happy reading!

Okay, since I have been telling people to use killfiles and threads to
ignore most of the subjects they don't like, I have heard people say that
their newsreader doesn't support this and/or that only registered
shareware ones do.

Well I think I found a pretty good one, it is called NewsXpress2.0 and it
is a Beta2 version. It has killfile support, and configurability of
killfiles by author, subject and even newsgroup. It also has
UUEncoding/Decoding and even Jpeg viewing. Lots more features.

It can be found at:
ftp://ftp.neosoft.com/pub/users/c/conrads/nx20b2.zip

Or on:
http://www.windows95.com/apps/news.html

I think this is mostly a Win95 problem, and especially a problem of people
using Netscape to read news. Now Netscape is just great for a web browser,
but folks it's usability as a newsreader is very limited.

I usually use a UNIX shell acct to read news, I love using 'trn' for
reading news and it has lots of great features, but I decided to find out
if there was a decent Windows95 solution for those of you out there that
use Windows95 newsreaders.

Anyhow I hope that helps some of you out there, and don't settle for
Netscape's poor excuse for a Newsreader.

Cheers.

_Free Agent_ doesn't support kill/watch filters. But _Agent_ is well
worth the money in any case <g>
