They are fun to play online, and with a half dozen cars or so, there isn't
too much lag, assuming the host is using DSL/cable and everybody else is
too. I stick with the career modes mostly, there are some very good
racers on Gamespy that know how to setup their cars and drive fast. I've
won a few races online, though.
The newer Sprintcars and Saturday Night Speedway are a little
disappointing. The graphics are about the level of DTR 2 and the physics
are about as good (although they got rid of the slider and now they just
have "easy/medium/hard"), but they simplified the setups alot, which is both
good and bad (for instance, you cannot change the amount of toe on the
wheels, but you can change weighting, springs, etc.). Maybe they didn't
want to make it too overwhelming for the console audience (they also are
console ports now, Ratbag really wanted to break into the console market,
obviously). I'm also not a big Sprint Cars fan, so it's sort of a take it
or leave it thing for me, and the SNS only adds Midget cars, which are
fairly similar to the cars already in Leadfoot, except they drive on ovals
(there are also some fantasy courses in the game, like rally circuits).
