OK - I missed the Monaco Rally preview, but I'm watching the Rally of
Sweden preview right now and I already HATE the announcer >:(!
Too loud - and how many wrong ways can you pronounce the drivers'
names?!
PLEASE tell me this was just for the XS show - could the Speed Channel
hell be starting already?
False alarm?

I totally agree with you Kendt!

And NO the Monaco Rally preview did not have Ralph "Mr. Nasal" Shaheen doing
the narration.

I'm going to write Speedvision/TV today to complain and suggest you do the
same.
We don't need an American sounding announcer covering a mostly European
sport that doesn't even run in this hemisphere!
Bring back the Brit announcer, who is familiar with the sport, it's drivers
and teams and it's history!

***! ***, ***ITY, ***,***,*** (as Cartman would say)! WHY THE
HELL DOES SCTV THINK AN AMERICAN HAS TO ANNOUNCE FIA RALLY?!
It's not just Shaheen's voice I can't stand, more his "Hey! I'm a
SPORTSCASTER!" delivery of the commentary that sounds straight out of
a bad ESPN audition. His totally predictable intonation cycle gives
away his complete lack of passion for the sport :(!
Looks like all the new Fux (oops!) management have to find jobs for
all thier cronies - my girlfriend is in a similar situation, her
company management changed and they steadily forced out all the good
people to get thier buddies in.

Ahh hell - now I'm just depressed... Stephen Smith - you were right

Well - looks like I violated Google's TOS with that last post ;)!
Apologies to those who saw it - but I *did* open with a warning.
Again, I'm glad about the extended coverage, but Ralph Shaheen just
does not cut it: Too loud, delivered like a bad ESPN audition, and
this cycle of intonation that portrays nothing but a complete lack of
passion about rallying.
My new name for SpeedChannel: SCTV.
