That was my first impression too, but after looking at some pictures i found on
the internet, they don't seem too overdone.

This picture shows Dale in one of the turns and the cracks look fairly dark and
its under alot of sunlight which may make them look lighter than they really
are. Also there seem to be just as many cracks in Papy's track as there are in
this picture.
