In a previous driver related post was a link for NVMax, which allows
overclocking of your (Nvidia)vid card......now, I have it installed, but I'm
leary of letting the smoke out of my computer by using it
incorrectly.....would anyone like to offer some guidelines to what would be
a reasonable amount to o'clock a 64m Geforce2 GTS/Pro? Defaults are:
200 Core Clock
333 Memory Clock
If I recall correctly from my 3DFX days, 10-15% was recommended then, what
can I aim for without serious risk of frying something?

It should do 230/400ish but it's best to do it in steps and find the max. Do
one at a time, first rase the core 5Mhz at a time each time benchmarking
with 3DMark 2001 (2 or 3 loops) until it crashes or there are graphical
defects, then back it off 5-10Mhz. Then do the same with the memory (start a
bit higher though) watching out for a snowing effect or instability.

As long as you keep it to small steps and back off a bit once you've gone
too far you wont fry anything, you will reduce the life of your card a bit,
but by then the GF4 or 5 will be out and you'll need a new card anyway ;-)

Just to add what Alex wrote, it also depends on how much additional/better cooling you are willing
to add to your card.  With no additional cooling except for stock heat sink/fan combo, 10-15% is
probably a reasonable limit to assume.  But other factors including how well the inside of your case
cools itself also need to be considered.  Rule of thumb is you can never have too much cooling
inside your case
