Did you ever noticed how the engine sounds are poor in UbiSoft Game (like F1
Racing Sim. and Red Line Racer).

Ok they have great sim ... but i continue to play with GP2 because the sound
in F1RS are so anoying (and frustrating) that i can't play more than 15
minutes ...

Don't forget that sound in game represent 50% of interaction with the
player. I can't figure why the leader of the development have accepted to
use this engine sound with a great sim like this ...

All is great ... but the engine sound remember me the PEEK and POKE sound
programming in basic on my commodore 64 twelve years ago.

Check out the F1RS site http://www.f1racingsim.com it's got the GP2 sound
available for F1RS.  Killer site by the way.

Stephane,
If you don't like the sounds just go in and change them. Any simple wav
editor will allow you to play with or change them. I have been fooling
around with the engine and shifting sounds and it does make a big
difference. All the best, Mike

up (only 70k) from www.f1racingsim.com in the sounds section...

UBISoft sucks with sound implementation

There are some great (and promising to get even better) sounds available for
download on the Net (at the popular F1RS sites).  These sounds are created
by very talented fans and they are far from the realistic sounds of say,
CART:PR, but they are 100 times better than the UbiSoft buzzing that is
supplied with F1RS.

Check them out--you will be very happy.  You are right that the sound makes
a huge difference in the ability to enjoy and interact with a racing sim.

Marc.

A lot of people have said that TOCA is a poor simulation (car physics etc)
but the sound is absolutely FANtastic. You hear the roar of the engine plus
a superb whine from the gearbox as the revs build up. And I agree, sound is
vital to a racing game.

Gooday Marc. Do these sound kits make it so the engine volume
increases/decreases with throttle application?
