Brake don't work in RT

by Rolf Weseman » Thu, 22 Nov 2001 03:34:47

Hi to all,
I got my Rally Trophy today and cannot figure out, how to get the left pedal
to work as a brake:

I have MSFF-Wheel (old gameport-version) and dx 8.1 final. The axis are
separated.

In GPL, F1RC etc. all is working fine, but in Rally Trophy it is impossible,
to get it to work.

Thanks in advance,
Rolf

You don't realy neen brakes anyway, I do just about all my slowing with the
gears I don't know what that says for the physics :-/

But you could try clicking reset (or refresh) in the controler config.

Seems like every time I took my foot off the gas the car slowed instantly as
if I were applying the brakes even when the brake lights weren't on. Almost
like a driving a dump truck. Deleted it, back to N4 and GPL, the only true
sims. ;)

Are you using DXTweak ? I had similar problem after trying dxtweak, removed it
and both pedals worked fine after that.

Make sure the Control panel settings for your wheel are not set to combined,
enter RT and go to the options for the controller. Hit the reset button.
Select the pedal unit and as long as the options on the left show both
accelerate and brake it should work.

The guy that deleted it doesn't know what he is missing for a simple (but
admittedly confusing) configuration setting.

The next problem you'll find is the cars handle like they are old!!

Thank you, Andi,

that was the point, I just had separate axis, but to get them to work, I had
to make a profile in gamecontroller-profiler, where I only set it again to
separate. Now it is working fine.

This cars make fun,

Rolf
